Man tänker sitt (2009)
An enigmatic film with some beautiful cinematography. I think this movie has hidden depths and will repay multiple viewings.
My Movie Rating:

Marzipan (2007)
I rather like this short film. It reminds me of the myth of the Maenads, but in this one the boys rebel at the end, which is great! The film has a beautiful look to it as well. In any case, one must see it for the marzipan sculptures.
My Movie Rating:

Matti und Sami und die drei größten Fehler des Universums (2018)
Utterly gorgeous, gentle comedy, with fine performances all round, that everyone should watch! Highly recommended.

Medea (1969)
Extraordinary, beautiful and intense. Remind me never to cross a Colchian sorceress.

Mercury Rising (1998)
Not a bad movie as such, but just too trite and formulaic to be deeply meaningful. Not really my cup of char. Miko Hughes' performance as the autistic kid, though, was stunning.
My Movie Rating:

Mia aioniotita kai mia mera (1998)
A ponderous film in which the protagonist, Alexander, a man who knows he is dying and has very little time left, tries to find some meaning in the recollected fragments of his life, whilst spending his last day out of hospital with a young boy, an Albanian immigrant who has been driven from his own home, and whom Alexander rescues first from the police and then from what seems to be a criminal gang which sells street children to desparate childless couples. When the young boy's friend Selim is found dead, the street kids have a sort of funeral where they burn his belongings, in a rather haunting and lovely scene. I feel this movie has hidden depths, and will repay more than one viewing.
My Movie Rating:

Milan (2007)
Essential viewing. Although the director has insisted that the film does not 'take sides', it is nevertheless a good counterbalance to the relentless propaganda that was churned out by NATO and the subservient western media at the time.

Milo (2017)
Matthew Johnson does a superb job in a difficult role.
My Movie Rating:

Mino (1986)
Rather sombre towards the end - but then it is about WWI! A gorgeous production.

Mondo (1995)
Quite gorgeous.

Monstagram (2017)
"...And also, a duck on his back that can also kill you." Come on, that's got to be worth something.
My Movie Rating:

Moonland (1926)
About as gorgeous as a short film can be.

Moritz in der Litfaßsäule (1983)
Delightful. The DDR always made such good kids' films. God bless DEFA!
My Movie Rating:

Møv og Funder (1991)
A truly great film about friendship, trust and love, with wonderful performances from the whole cast. Unmissable!

Mr. Bean's Holiday (2007)

Mud (2012)
My Movie Rating:

The Mummy Returns (2001)
Thin action/CGI pabulum, though redeemed by some nice one-liners, and by Freddie Boath's performance as the cute, clever, cheeky boy. Without Freddie's contribution, though, it would scarcely be very satisfying for anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together.
My Movie Rating:

My Ain Folk (1973)

My Childhood (1972)

My Family and Other Animals (2005)
Perhaps not quite as good as the 1987 TV miniseries, but a superb film realisation nonetheless. One pleasing thing about this movie is that Gerald (Eugene Simon) goes practically feral by the end - wearing just a pair of shorts and covered in a layer of dirt.
