Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993)
Aside from Max Pomeranc's engaging and talented presence, I have to mention Hal Scardino's scene where he shuffles out to tell the eager parents at the first big tournament, "it's over" and then ambles back to the game room. "WHO WON??" scream the parents at his retreating little form. A precious look at typical boy behavior.

Shadowlands (1993)
My Movie Rating:

Shadrach (1998)
Another beauty of a film.

Shane (1953)
Wonderful in every way. I only wish I could see it again for the first time (or the 10th).

The Sixth Sense (1999)
Nicely crafted, ingenious movie, superb music score. Haley is just terrific.

Sling Blade (1996)
Amazing performance by Thornton and a fine one by Lucas Black.

Song for a Raggy Boy (2003)
I have seldom been so angry when watching a film. But I too cried at the end. Wonderful boy performances and overall filmmaking.

Stand by Me (1986)
Wonderful movie, great boy performances. Every time I see the film it occurs to me that the director had it made in one respect - it is just impossible to get a bad picture of these boys.

To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)

Viva Cuba (2005)
Irresistable. This is by far the best boy/girl puppy love story I've seen. A solid ring of truth since the two spend at least half their time squabbling with each other. Both kids have loads of charm and animation and it would be most unfair to treat this as solely a boy movie. Lots of visual bonuses.

Agi i Ema (2007)
A lovely and beautifully produced fantasy with one of the most angelic boys I've ever seen on screen. I found the fantasy very heavy-footed in spots and therefore not perfect. Even fantasy has to have some kind of inner logic. The music score, consisting of several classical pieces, is perfect.

Aideistä parhain (2005)
Beautifully done.

Akademia pana Kleksa (1984)
Pure delight.

Alabama Moon (2009)
Jimmy Bennett and especially Uriah Shelton stole my heart and they can keep it as long as they want.

Alexander (2004)
I liked it very much, even apart from the early boy scenes. There are flaws, but I can't honestly be harsh on a movie that moved me so much. Connor Paolo is wonderful in the first part of the film and the other boys are very appealing, if only briefly seen. The best match-up in looks between boy actor and adult actor playing the same character that I have ever seen. Colin Farrell reminded me of young Connor and that was a very nice experience.

An Angel for May (2002)
A near-perfect time travel story, which I love. Matthew Beard is wonderful and makes me believe it. The adult actors are superb. Also, a very rich music score, amply orchestrated. (even instrumental soloists are credited at the end!)

Any Friend of Nicholas Nickleby Is a Friend of Mine (1982)
Delightful

Apollo 13 (1995)
I have a definite bias for movies dealing with the early US space program. This one is excellent. Miko Hughes melted my heart, but thats not news.
My Movie Rating:

L'Argent de poche (1976)
I guess my previous rating got lost. A charming, episodic tangle of kids lives and adult lives in a French town portrayed almost as a large family. Some of the most attractive and endearing boys I've seen in a movie.

Bacheha-Ye aseman (1997)
