The Island on Bird Street (1997)

Very well made, with some visual niceties thrown in, too. What a fine, courageous, resourceful young man and actor! Too bad he didn't make anything else...!!!

Ivanovo detstvo (1962)

I don't know, maybe the copy I got wasn't as good as others, because (while it was good) I can't see rating it 9 or 10. He was an attractive kid, though, no doubt about it!

Jack and the Beanstalk (2009)

I probably would have given this a 6 if it were only based on the story, but I couldn't stop watching Colin. He was mesmerizing. On that alone, this gets a bump!

Joshua (2007)

First: Jacob looked great and did a great job being evil. Second: the producer or director did a lousy job. It was a weird movie, with no real way to understand what was starting to happen to Joshua. Nowhere near as good as many other such movies. Andreas makes some good points in HIS review in that the vagueness is somewhat unique and interesting... but I'm not sure it makes the film any better.

I enjoyed this touching movie, although Colin's role wasn't really much of a part. Don't get me wrong, he did well and looked great, but it's a relatively small role and didn't demand a whole lot from him.

I enjoyed the books, and the movie was fun, but nothing "special." It was worth watching, but not mandatory...
