In my view Tarkovsky's best after Andrei Rublev. If Soviet depictions of the Second World War are of interest, also take a look at at The Ballad of a Soldier, The Cranes are Flying and Commissar, each of which is excellent in its own way.

This is probably the best film I've seen all year!
It was an absolutely amazing film!
Nikolay Burlyaev (as Ivan) was excellent!
The beauty of the film was stunning!
