Du er ikke alene (1978)

Enemy at the Gates (2001)
Love the smiles and worshipful glances Gabriel's character gives to Jude Law's. Can't help but suspect that that hero worship ran over into real life.

El Espinazo del Diablo (2001)
Beautifully made, original film. The color photography is gorgeous. The boys are stunning. A run-thru of the DVD with the director's commentary is very rewarding - but you might be mad, as I was, at the director for a mean trick he admits he pulled toward the end of the film.

Fan chan (2003)
Completely charming.

Finding Neverland (2004)
The boys are excellent, the whole cast is excellent. I confess I didn't know Johnny Depp was capable of such fine acting. Nick Roud as the oldest boy, George, caught my eye and specially roused my admiration. I hope he gets more screen roles; although I see from the DVD extras that his voice had already changed at premiere time. There seems to be a lot of that going around. :)

La Fonte des Neiges (2009)

Freaks and Geeks (1999-2000)
How TV sitcoms about young people should be done. A ring of humor and truth in spades.

Go Toward the Light (1988)
A beautiful, heart-wrenching story. A very fine performance by Joshua Harris.

Goodnight, Mister Tom (1998)
John Thaw and Nick Robinson are wonderful. Most of the movie is very moving but I found some key moments in the story hard to swallow. For example, the facile manner in which the old man convinces the Home Office rep. toward the end. I got the sense that the last 1/3 of the movie was hurriedly thrown together. And I do hate to critcize a movie with so many appealing moments.

Hævnen (2010)
I completely agree with everyone. But it did occur to me that the ending left 2 dangerous characters not dealt with. Honestly though, I'm very glad that they weren't!

If.... (1968)
Another long time no see. Maybe my memory is being generous. Quirky and intriguing.
