School of Rock (2003)

As an old poop with an old and deep prejudice against rock (I first heard the name Buddy Holly in my 20's and I said "Who??")I knew this was a movie I would hate. I hated the first 2 minutes. After that - well, I don't know what happened, but I liked it. It was fun and even charming. If there had been rock music way back when, this is a movie Frank Capra could have made.

Jamie has got to be the most adorable little guy ever to play Mowgli - or any other jungle boy!

Un Secreto de Esperanza (2002)

At that age Imanol must have been one of the most adorable boys living. The interactions between the boy and the old woman are very movingly presented and superbly acted.

A beautiful boy and a very cute little beagle. The movie covers familiar ground with some new twists and is well worth a look.

Signs (2002)

Rory is very appealing. Movie's plot is rather disjointed and resolution of the story is not persuasive. Disappointing ONLY as a Shyamalan film - but he does give a lot of suspense and scary moments without big visual effects. I do hope that Shyamalan's career will start to build rather than fade to nothing. Somebody has got to persuade him to consider ideas and stories from writers other than himself.

One of my favorite movies, but loaded with flaws. Fascinating take on one of Ray Bradbury's pet themes. I love the boys.

The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)

Very entertaining and a nice job by Freddie. I could have cheerfully strangled both the mother and teenage sister characters. They took a lot away from my enjoyment of the film.
