Lamb (1986)
Very well made and extremely well acted. The ending is not recommended for the tender-hearted. (who am I kidding? That's me!) But I give it high marks for good use of talent.

Lassie (2005)
A very nice remake of Lassie Come Home. Not really necessary, but still a fine job and worth a look.

It looks like somebody saw this the same time I did. :)
Not much story but haunting visuals and a handsome boy.

Maya (2001)
The ending was an awful shock after the charming and humorous setup in the body of the movie. Expertly made & beautifully photographed. Nikhil Yadav is very cute as a little boy-angel who is mostly devilish.
I did, however, have to re-watch 'Pather Panchali' immediately after in order to calm down.

Mean Creek (2004)
I'm so fond of Ryan Kelley I had to force myself to notice the fine acting of the other young leads. Ryan can do so much with just a subtle change of expression in that angelic face. But I am definitely biased.
The commentary track on the DVD made me appreciate the hard choices a director and film editor must often make, chopping scenes they both loved. It made me respect these filmmakers for placing character development and clear focus on the plot above their creative egos.
My Movie Rating:

La Misma luna (2007)
I suspect there was a subliminal political message in there somewhere, but, ignoring that, I took Carlito's human story very much to heart.
(I can't believe I enjoyed a non-english speaking movie more than Zab did!)
