My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 6 / 10 6 / 10 Over the Top was one of those movies I kind of enjoyed many years ago. The story is very simple again, as in most of Sly's movies. David Mendenhall delivers a good performance, I actually liked his character. The ultimate showdown is perfectly staged, you have to acknowledge that. Thus the dramatic aspect as well as the emotional burden lift the movie's quality to a certain extent and make it a solid 7 for me. There are definitely better father-son stories, but I think that this one lived up to its demand.

My Movie Rating: 6 / 10 David Mendenhall was 16 here but looks about 12. Sylvester Stallone does a very good Sylvester Stallone.
