Synopsis
This third filmed version of the story shows Chipping?s struggles with the less attractive side of traditional boarding-school life ? bullying, class-based snobbery and "fagging". It also shows Chipping?s transition from an inexperienced newcomer who easily loses control of a classroom to an authoritative master. We see the slow stages and small victories by which he wins the students? respect and grows in confidence, and how Mrs. Chipping, when she arrives, impacts his professional and personal life.

A good production and quite moving.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10This is quite different to the 1939 version and of course vastly different to the 1969 musical. It is more realistic and less sentimental than both those versions and IMO a very decent film. Chips is by far the main character but there are plenty of boy actors seen throughout although none of them have major roles.
