Signs (2002)
I personally like it. This is mainly due to the fine cast and the solid performance by Rory Culkin. I'm not a fan of Mr. Shyamalan, but this one was done properly. The suspense was intact for a long time throughout the movie - you did not know what to expect nor what would happen. Once the alien was visible, the suspense was replaced by solid action and a nice climax at the very end.
Good job.
My Movie Rating:
8 / 10 Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Sling Blade (1996)
Awesome character portrayal. Lucas Black has a substantial part and shines indeed as the poor and lonely kid from the boondocks who yearns for a happy life and fatherly guidance. The focus is strongly on his relationship with Karl and how both of them try to make the best out of their miserable lives. Shot in Arkansas.
My Movie Rating:
8 / 10 Spud (2010)
Very good movie.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Stepmom (1998)
This movie has a very sincere message and tells the story of how a family deals with a deadly illness. The two main female characters deliver outstanding performances. Watch out for this one if you like emotional and touching family stories with a deeper meaning to life and love. Liam is very good in here too.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Super 8 (2011)
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Three Wishes (1995)
A generally underrated movie. It has a superb cast (Swayze, Mastrantonio, Mazzello), pervasive acting and an inspriring story. Both boys do a convincing job. Especially the interaction between Mazzello and Swayze is sincere and quite emotional. The message of faith, love and endurance mingled with magic and the emotional quest to recognition and affection make this movie worth watching.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Toast (2010)
Very enjoyable. Watch out for the early scenes between the boy and the gardener.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Tom Sawyer (2011)
The two lads playing Tom and Huck are simply outstanding.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Toto le héros (1991)
Good movie! Three (or even four) layers of time. Great narrative, nice twist, gives you a lot to think about.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Treasure Island (1950)
I saw this one a long time ago. It is a classic by today's standards, probably the most sincere adaptation of the original novel by R.L. Stevenson.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Tu seras un homme (2013)
Beautiful portrayal of a man-boy friendship.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Voor een verloren soldaat (1992)

At least in the original south-German language version. I watched this one with two 12-year-olds... and we couldn't stop laughing :D
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Whisper (2007)
Blake Woodruff has done an AMAZING job with Whisper. When he allows the devil into his face, his looks are beyond cool, and his eyes have a genuine magnetism to them that will keep you mesmerized.
The story is decent, with a nice twist at the end, the acting is solid. Blake of course shines xD
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 The Witches (1990)
Smashing film for kids. Just the right mixture of fantasy and exciting adventures. Like a modern fairy tale. Great stuff.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Woensdagen (2011)
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 Das Wunder von Bern (2003)
As a football fan, this movie appeals to me indeed. It is true-to-history, honestly depicted, filled with genuine and sophisticated acting performances and based on a historical background. The entire plot centers around the boy, Matthias, and tells the story of the 1954 World Cup through his eyes mainly. He makes this movie special and revives the era of the 50s in Germany, a time when this nation was just recovering from the devastation and the scars of WWII.
The story is solid and very sincere. The acting is wonderful and the depiction of the contemporary setting is superbly staged.
My Movie Rating:
8 / 10
