Les Allumettes suédoises (1995)
Apparently a tv-series that is hard to obtain. A recent revival of an ancient thread in the forum made me curious. Amazingly, I was successful in my first try to get it. Amazon.fr had it in stock. The distributors are Koba Films, who have a wealth of other French tv-productions in their programme.
Les allumettes suédoises is based on Robert Sabatier's novel with the same title. Director Jacques Ertaud and a fantastic cast forged the story into an evergreen. The boy actors are excellent. Naël Marandin's play is worth an Academy Award.

Hugo's erotic scene with his mother reminded me of 'Nattlek' and 'Le Souffle au coeur', both nicer movies than this one. The acting is rather weak.
