8 / 10 Lots of action and beautiful scenery.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 7 / 10 7 / 10 Much like the decade newer "Io non ho paura," this film deals with some heavy social issues and their impact on innocent kids. Both are well-worth watching; both have very capable and attractive lead roles and supporting cast. It's only just short of a "MUST WATCH" - so go watch it!
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 The movie's background story is good, but I wasn't entirely satisfied with the pace and storyline developments. The visuals were great anyway, the close-ups of the boy as well as the scary scenes (good use of twilight and shadows). I found I'm Not Scared a better movie dealing with the kidnappings in Italy, though this one seems a bit more realistic.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10 Some grisly murder scenes, some simplistically villainous bad guys--these elements put me off. But I was definitely not bored. There is a core of beauty to this film centered in the perceptions and in the heart of the boy, who is a total angel in looks. Beautifully photographed.
