I really loved this. The actors were very charismatic. Some scenes would provoke moral spasms now - such has civilisation been sacrificed to hysterics since the early 90s. Am I the only one to see something a little homoerotic in Geronimo's relationship to Fergus? Probably.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10West Cork will never be the same. West Cork is in Ireland and so am puzzled as to why the Union Jack was placed beside it.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10This is my favorite version of this classic French tale.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10A well made film with humour and pathos and the director managing to achieve almost the impossible these days, or in 1994 for that matter - getting boys to run about in their birthday suits. The scene with the battle at the castle was very well done, something that was missing from the French original. Plenty of action with plenty of boys though this time with the inevitable intervention of some girls. Ah well.
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10The Irish remake of an earlier French film. Both rather nice to watch, but leaving no permanent imprint on the viewer's mind.
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10I enjoyed this one a lot! That's basically due to the amount of kids and the depiction of the Irish countryside as the main setting. All the actors - without exception - do a perfect job. I especially liked the smouldering tension between Geronimo and Fergus, the two leaders. The way the two gangs clash into each other is both amusing and absorbing. The movie has a tremendous amount of natural, genuine charm to it. It is both sincere and blithe. There ought to be more movies like this one. Entertaining and intriguing at the same time, with some nice twists and unexpected events. The cultural dimension, as the movie takes place in Ireland, is another argument to see it. Friendship and fidelity are some of the main themes. Just to recommend for an entertaining evening.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10This is funny movie. Boys try to take buttons from clothes of each other and its funny when leader got capture from both sides and he got embarassed.
One part boys got only shoes on and chase away other group of boys. One reveiw I read say it is stupid for boys wear shoes then bcause shoelaces are valuable as buttons in war between boys and it say in novel not suposed to wear shoes. I think film is very funny and end part when boys got end of their war it show how silly it was for war to happen.
