7 / 10 I think 'High Lonesome' must have been made for TV. The plot is a bit sugary though I think how it portrays the attitude of white people to blacks in 1930s America pretty authentic. Joseph Mazzello is, of course, excellent as the tough kid the black man takes under his wing despite his high pitched voice. The ending is rather contrived I think as I doubt any black man would be allowed to adopt white children at that time. Good movie that brings a tear to the eye.

My Movie Rating: 6 / 10 This film very good story and boy wish for father. I know how boy feel to not have father and i like man in movie who be like father for him. It make me sad when people dont like man only bcause he got darker skin. He got good heart and he is good for boy.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 6 / 10 As usual, Joseph gives an outstanding performance in this film. Quite apart from that though, the film is a great testament to the will power and love of a boy, a stark comment on the depths of racism and a fine example of how good things can happen...
