Spy Hard (1996)
My Movie Rating:Spy Kids (2001)
Entertaining enough kids movie.
My Movie Rating:Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams (2002)
As with the first one, entertaining enough.
My Movie Rating:Stand by Me (1986)
Star Kid (1997)
My Movie Rating:Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
In retrospect, Part 1 was better than Part 2, but not a patch on Parts 4,5 & 6. I don't hold out much hope for Part 3.
I actually thought this was a pretty good movie. About the only thing that really irked was Ewan McGregor's accent - he's a great actor, but so far the only convincing accent I've heard from him has been his native Scottish.
My Movie Rating:Strangers (1988)
My Movie Rating:Stuart Little (1999)
I'm not a great fan of Johnathon Lipnicki, but even I'd say he's been in better movies. Hugh Laurie - were you that desperate for money?
Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
THE action movie of the 90's. It has far more broad appeal than the original, this being more sci-fi than sci-fi horror.
Also of course the first movie to bring Edward Furlong to the bigtime. His performance has all the confidence and cockiness that the character needs.
My Movie Rating:Three Wishes (1995)
My Movie Rating:The Tic Code (1998)
Outstanding movie. Christopher Marquette's performance is amazing - several scenes brought tears to my eyes.
Time Bandits (1981)
Not Terry Gilliam's best effort, but one or two amusing moments (John Cleese's Robin Hood for e.g.).
However, the end of the film, while being superbly unexpected, leaves you feeling rather empty...
My Movie Rating:Tom Brown's Schooldays (2005)
Since this is the only version I've seen, and haven't read the book, I can't say how it compares. But it was a good production with good performances by Alex Pettyfer, Stephen Fry, and the other lads.
My Movie Rating:The Toy (1982)
In many ways what 'First Kid' was based upon. Although on more than one occasion it seems like the actors are just following the script rather than acting, and Richard Pryor just can't step outside his hysterical-mad-man stereotype, the Pryor-Schwartz relationship comes off really well.
My Movie Rating:Two and a Half Men (2003-2015)
Very average comedy.
Having watched a few episodes to give it a chance, I'm going to change 'average' to 'mediocre' :-P
My Movie Rating:Unbreakable (2000)
My Movie Rating:Uncle Buck (1989)
John Candy was one of the all-time great American comic actors, and this was a great example of his work. I can also see why John Hughes made Mac the star of Home Alone on the strength of his performance in this as well.
My Movie Rating:Unstrung Heroes (1995)
A fantastic movie.
My Movie Rating:The Upper Hand (1990-1996)
My Movie Rating:The Van (1996)
