As with the first one, entertaining enough.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)

In retrospect, Part 1 was better than Part 2, but not a patch on Parts 4,5 & 6. I don't hold out much hope for Part 3.

I actually thought this was a pretty good movie. About the only thing that really irked was Ewan McGregor's accent - he's a great actor, but so far the only convincing accent I've heard from him has been his native Scottish.

Time Bandits (1981)

Not Terry Gilliam's best effort, but one or two amusing moments (John Cleese's Robin Hood for e.g.).

However, the end of the film, while being superbly unexpected, leaves you feeling rather empty...

Vice Versa (1988)

Just about stays on the right side of watchable rather than irritating.

3 Ninjas Kick Back (1994)

I think the franchise missed a beat with this one - the first one and '...Knuckle Up' were definitely the stronger of the three movies.

Ender's Game (2013)

To be honest, I only went to see it because Asa Butterfield was in it, and yes, his being in it was about the only thing to really recommend it. It wasn't a terrible film, but I didn't feel the immersion in the story that I was expecting, it didn't feel as 'epic' as it perhaps should have done.

Free Willy 3: The Rescue (1997)

First movie - young tearaway boy makes friends with a killer whale, and he comes to terms with his circumstances. Good movie.

Second movie - same boy, now older, teaches a young boy how to appreciate animals, by introducing him to his killer whale friend. Saves whale from being killed. Poor by comparison.

Third movie - same boy, now older, teaches a young boy how to appreciate animals, by introducing him to his killer whale friend. Saves whale from being killed. Poor by comparison.

Godsend (2004)

I kind of agree with gee's estimation of it - it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be from what I'd heard, but it certainly wasn't what I'd expect of a movie with Robert De Niro in. It was entertaining enough, for one viewing, but it was just left wanting of that certain something that would've dragged it out of the realm of cheesy horror.

I reckon it would've been improved a lot if they'd replaced the ending with alternative ending number 1 off the R2 DVD. Cameron was good though :-)

The Little Rascals (1994)

I haven't seen the original series, but I'm quite sure this isn't a patch on it.

Lord of the Flies (1990)

An Americanised version of the novel in all the ways that it could be. To my mind the whole point of the novel was that, on arrival at the island, the boys were all innocent and untouched by the horrors that humanity can subject itself to, which is then destroyed as anarchy and violence take over. The boys in this movie however are older and far more worldy-wise, which makes the transition from innocence to evil rather pointless. Peter Brook's version is far superior.

Still, some good scenes nonetheless :)

School of Rock (2003)

I expected it to be a little more anarchic - it seemed to me a little too much like Sister Act 2....

Soccer Dog: The Movie (1999)

The plot summary and title didn't really inspire, and the watching was only slightly better. But the main thing I felt was that the writer had some very unusual ideas, somewhat outside the remit of a kids comedy movie.

Very average comedy.

Having watched a few episodes to give it a chance, I'm going to change 'average' to 'mediocre' :-P
