What an awesome movie, the best so far from S Korea. I loved the grandmother whose almost daily walks up that long hill in her crippled condition really was something. And I loved the way she handled her grandson who was completely disrespectful and selfish with hatred in his heart but as the movie ended he suddenly realized the goodness in his grandmother and he hated to leave that once his mother came and got him.

Genuinely moving. Subtle, not syrupy. Also see Take Care of My Cat, House of Hummingbird, The World of Us, In Between Days, Lovesong, Treeless Mountain and the short film The Recorder Exam.

Nice Korean movie. After seeing the ill-mannered boy for the first time, I suspect nobody feels any sympathy for him, despite his good looks. As the film develops, however, we detect great improvement in his behaviour. He has stopped insulting his grandmother and shows signs of love for her. Viewers of this film should have great respect for the role of this elderly and crippled lady. She is some actress!
