Synopsis
Poet and filmmaker Yevgeny Yevtushenko wrote and directed this metaphorical look at his fictionalized early life, set in 1941 when Muscovites were abandoning their city because of the war. Nine-year-old Zhenya is overwhelmed by the crowds and tearful good-byes. As he heads toward Siberia and home, Zhenya meets a woman bandit and is intrigued by her enthusiasm for life and whatever of value she can swipe from it.

10 / 10 A magnificent movie. Very moving in places and exceptionally good acting by all, but especially by the star, Sergei Gusak (Zhenya).
My Movie Rating: 10 / 10 10 / 10 This movie in library vhs and I seen couple years ago. I liked film very much and feel bad for all people who dont got home bcause of war. It had very sad parts in film. This movie make me feel like I am there in same place more than most movies do. I like it lots.
