Synopsis

H?nsel and Gretel are the offspring of an impoverished woodcutter and his wife who are abandoned in the woods in this Brothers Grimm fairy tale. A beautiful bird shows them the way to a house. The walls of the house are made of gingerbread, the windows of sugar. H?nsel and Gretel are terribly hungry. They nibble from the little house. They are unaware that the house is owned by a witch. She wants the children to stay with her and get fat. When the children are fat enough, she wants to eat them both up. Gretel sees through the wicked witch, but H?nsel does not. Gretel tries desperately to save her brother from the witch stove.
