Synopsis
Given an essay assignment during an English lesson, schoolboy Vasya instead daydreams of becoming the ship's boy with the famous Captain Vrungel and his cheerful first mate Lom, on a voyage to investigate the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle.
Notes
- Loosely based on "The Adventures of Captain Vrungel" (first published in comic strip form in 1937, full text publication 1939) by Soviet writer Andrey Nekrasov. Nekrasov's story was a parody of popular seafaring yarns of the 1930s, as well as of stereotypes of foreigners and foreign countries then prevalent in the Soviet Union.
