Synopsis
Fleeing from bullies, Eustace (David Thwaites) and his school friend Jill Pole are magically transported to the land of Narnia, where they are entrusted by Aslan with the task of rescuing the king's stolen son Prince Rilian from the mysterious forces holding him in captivity. Aided by their gloomy companion Puddleglum the Marshwiggle (Tom Baker), they travel north across the mountains and journey down into the earth itself to confront the fearful Queen of the Deep Realm and break the enchantment of the Silver Chair.
Notes
- Based on the 1953 novel of the same name, which was the fourth volume of the 7-volume "Chronicles of Narnia" series by British novelist, poet, medievalist, philosopher, critic, essayist and lay theologian C. S. Lewis (1898-1963)
- This serial was the third in the BBC's three-serial "Chronicles of Narnia" series, preceded by The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe (1988) and Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1989).
