Synopsis

When, in May 1940, the Germans invade France, the inhabitants of one village decide to flee to the coast. Amongst the refugees is a small German boy Max (Joshio Marlon), whose father Hans was arrested after the outbreak of the war. Hans escapes captivity, and, accompanied by a Scottish officer, Percy - whose entire unit died under German bullets - he searches for his son.
