It was an enjoyable watch, but Jake needed some more training with his acting.

Good fun, though it can't hold a candle to the original trilogy. Jake Lloyd's acting is a bit wooden, but he's much preferable to Hayden Christensen! People who saw this one in childhood, which is a lot of people by now, will have a sentimental attachment to it, and it really is much more of a kid-aimed movie than the others. I'd be inclined to recommend to fans of boy actors new to Star Wars -- though I doubt more than a few such can exist! -- that they watch the original trilogy, then, if they feel like it, watch this one for young Lloyd, ignoring the bits that don't make sense such as the midichlorian stuff, and leave the rest of the Star Wars movies well alone. The viewer's imagination can sketch out Anakin's character arc after childhood much better than the next two films did, and really no more films should have been made after Return of the Jedi.

Episodes I, II, and III were to tell the story of star wars from the begining, of how Anakin Skywalker ultimately became Darth Vadar! not to point any fingers, but I think some "Critics" over analize movies, it's just entertainment! watch it and enjoy it! instead of dysecting it! I love the Star Wars story and was thrilled when the 3 additional movies were released!
