Despite a very heavy-handed score, this is a good film, carried largely by the remarkable acting talents of Jared Breeze. It's partly a study of a neglected corner of Americana, partly a study of a child with callous-unemotional traits, i.e. pre-sociopathy.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10Reminds me a bit of reading a Stephen King novel. Starts off slowly, but the action ramps up for an exciting ending.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10An absolutely superb movie - in fact, something of a modern masterpiece. Jared Breeze is such a star - a remarkable young actor; I think few boys could have pulled off his role as effectively as he did. I have to confess something, though. I couldn't help having some sympathy for the boy's actions at the climax of the film, given the way the adults treated him - particularly the young adults at the end.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10Don't expect a horror movie with a lot of action. The movie shows the daily life of a lonely boy and his relationship to his father. Thats why the beginning of the movie is really calm and could be boring for some viewers. Nethertheless, the movie is interesting, has a surprising ending and invites to think about the story after the movie is over.

An awesome movie by an awesome Jared Breeze who did extremely well. I do have some reservations on his mental capacity which tends to disagree with others. Bear in mind this kid is living way out in the country and his only companion (aside the very few motel guests) is his alcoholic father. So what can a boy do--collect dead animals. Now I don't cherish the thought of doing that but because this is his interest I cannot say he has a mental problem because of that. He is a disturbed individual because of his isolation from others and his urgent desire to be with his mom. And when that group of party-goers arrive, the boy finally found a way out. So I don't really like to think he has a mental problem; he's too smart for that and, it appears, he may get his wish after all.
