Synopsis
Separated from her incarcerated husband Bill, Trish is about to be married again. Bill is a pedophile, so Trish couldn't be more excited to have Harvey, a "normal" father figure for her two sons. But when Bill is released from prison and the boys finally meet their future stepdad, the family is forced to decide whether to forgive or to forget.

Boy films released on DVD under 'Artificial Eye' are usually of a good standard but not this one. 'Life During Wartime' is definitely in the 'arty farty' category. This could have been an intriguing film of family relationships but never seems to get anywhere. Freckle faced Dylan Riley Snyder is good in his part of Timmy who seems to have paedophiles on the brain. However, the nonsense told him by his mother about never letting a man touch him is amply demonstrated by the ridiculous scene near the end of the film where a man does just that and the boy screams his head off. Also one of those movies that finishes up in the air with no proper ending. With only a trailer for extras there is no interview with Dylan. Boo.

I was somewhat disappointed with this film. With a different cast and plot and a strange title, it was impossible for me to see this as a sequel. The boy appeared to be an actor in training. However, I did like the ending. Contrary to his mother's strict advice, the boy did realized that, in some cases, it was OK to be touched.
