Synopsis
Holland. January 1945. People are heading east to feed their families. Adolescent Michiel is eager to do something for the resistance and finally feels that he is taken seriously when his neighbour Dirk asks him to deliver a letter. But Dirk is caught and the letter?s recipient is shot by the Germans. Michiel soon learns there?s only a small distinction in between good and evil. He grows, now lonely but independent. He will never be the same again.

8 / 10 Good despite some plot holes, including the downed pilot's miraculously quick-healing leg. Based on a popular semi-autobiographical 1972 novel by Jan Terlouw. Nice acting from Martijn Lakemeier, who turned up again in the good 2013 film It's All So Quiet. However, the 1975 TV miniseries based on the book is rather better, despite lower production values.
