Synopsis
The Three Investigators find themselves on vacation as Pete's father invites the youngsters to come to South Africa. Or to be more exact: to Skeleton Island, where he is helping the stinking rich Miss Wilbur in the construction of a new theme park. After they arrive, there suddenly is no time for sun-bathing, snorkelling, or even fun activities: a mysterious beast, the so-called 'Tokolosh', wreaks havoc and provokes fear and terror among the workers. One thing's for sure - this is a case for the Three Investigators.

7 / 10 8 / 10 I read every Three Investigators my local library had when I was 9 and 10. I wanted to be them. This movie did justice to my memory of the books. I thought the acting was above average and the plot classic Three Investigators. This film allowed me to relive a slice of my childhood.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10 7 / 10 A German/South African production with American boy actors. Obviously no expense was spared in the production costs as there is some fine photography in 'Skeleton Island'. This is matched by some fine acting from the three boys involved and all relatively unknown it seems. I guess this film was made for straight to DVD. I think it was Cameron Monaghan, he of the curly ginger hair and massed freckles, who said the producers had searched for boy actors in Britain and South Africa but couldn't find suitable kids before coming to the good old U S of A ... so now we know. Plenty of action, boyish humour in a rollicking tale of adventure.
