Synopsis
As little Jancis responds to and observes the world around him, the seasons change from winter through spring to summer. Blanketed in white snow, an old farmhouse huddles against the cold as one window frames the face of Jancis, watching the world outside. Inside, the warm hearth and family bustle fill the home with security. As the story moves from the bleak winter through the birth of a sibling for Iantsis and into the celebrations of the summer equinox, some of the harsh conditions of Jancis' life begin to emerge ? they are nomadic workers and the farmhouse belongs to someone else.
