Synopsis
Hamza, an alcoholic Bosnian poet, sends his wife and daughter away from war-torn Sarajevo. However, when he finds a pair of orphaned brothers hiding in his home - who have escaped a massacre in their own village and have come to the Bosnian capital in search of a long lost Aunt - the poet finds himself caring for the boys; and together they try to survive the siege of Sarajevo.

- Winner of the first annual Fran?ois Chalais Prize (for a film dedicated to the values of journalism) at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival; and winner of the Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix at the 1997 Tokyo International Film Festival - the festival's top award handed to what is considered overall the best film.

9 / 10 I was really impressed with this movie, although it's hardly a "feel good" movie. Very tragic, and too real, perhaps... I don't know. But the boys do a wonderful job, and it certainly gives us a glimpse into a world that seems worlds away but is really just right next door.
