Synopsis
Peter spends his summer break out in the country, during which he goes through the usual troubles of his age. He discovers that everything he wants to do is either forbidden or unachievable. Most of the time he dreams about Catherine, a young woman who looks like she understands what he's going through, and who doesn't treat him like child. A girl named Gerd falls in love with him, and initiates him in the art of kissing. The whole time he must ensure that the adults don't discover what he's doing. They would never understand, much less approve, what was happening...

8 / 10 Norwegian directors approach the coming of age theme slightly different from their Swedish or Danish colleagues. It is hard to tell which one to prefer. I liked this film very much. It has all the elements required: curiosity, friendship, first kiss and much more. What is shown is worth while, what is omitted is even better.
