Synopsis
From distant Sirius, an invasion of Earth has been planned for thousands of years as canine spies are sent to gather information. With none of their agents reporting back, the Sirius military sends their best dog, Canid 3942, to Earth to find out what's going on. Canid is befriended by a human boy and it's up to them to snap the dogs back into shape, or all the dogs on Earth will be recalled back to Sirius for rehabilitation... and man will lose all of his best friends.

Oh God, it's awful! When, at the end, the mom says 'Start unpacking - we're home for good' I laughed my head off! It was so predictable. (Although it doesn't really make sense, since they could always take the dog with them when they move. So why the sudden change of mind???) I can't believe that the producers managed to rope Vanessa Redgrave into doing one of the voices! Still, the whole thing's so unpretentious, it makes it almost beyond criticism. As a movie for very young children (10 or below) it's fine. Liam Aiken is a moderately charming actor.
