Synopsis
12 y/o Wang lives in a remote and impoverished village in the northwest of China. One day a film crew arrives and they need a local boy to play a role in the film. Wang eventually gets the role but has difficulty sticking to the script. He cannot bring himself to say lines, which contradict what he knows to be truth. He even gathers a petition from the locals and presents it to the assistant director.
