Synopsis
A desperate 13 year old boy scrambles for survival in the nightmarishly dilapidated remains of 1945 Berlin, trying to support his sick father by thieving and scavenging in the streets. When he encounters a kindly former schoolteacher, the old man reveals himself to be a devious Nazi sympathist capable of exacting a terrible influence on his erstwhile charge.

7 / 10 8 / 10 Either I'm used to modern film making or this isn't the 'golden oldie' others believe. The scenes were sketchy and abruptly joined though the DVD I saw wasn't remastered. I understand the director's difficulty in making such a film in such dreadful circumstances but the overall effect was still patchy. Edmund Moeschke was beautiful in his shorts and did a good job considering he was not a professional actor. I must presume he was a German boy from his surname so was he dubbed into Italian? A good storyline but insufficient development of the characters marred the production. I give the film 5 for Edmund.
