Biography
The fair-haired, blue-eyed son of British theatrical parents, Mickey was starring in pictures by the age of four. John Holmstrom describes him as "mid-way between Jackie Cooper and John Howard Davies: mousier than the one, spunkier than the other, with an amused, reassuring expression." ("The Moving Picture Boy", p. 91) Although by the end of the silent era he was one of Hollywood's leading boy actors, he failed to carry his career through into talking pictures. The Profile picture on this page is taken from the lovely fantasy short "Moonland" (1926).
