Night of the Hunter (1955)

my favorite scene is where John and his Sister stop for the night in the barn, John is sitting in the doorway of the Hayloft, and in the distance you can see the Preacher ride slowly by on his Horse! Robert Mitchum was great as the Preacher! Billy was very watchable! I love this movie alot! I watch it every chance I get. I highly recommend this, not only as a boy movie, but also as a suspence, drama!

Old Yeller (1957)

Watch the movie first! then read the book! there are parts of the book that Disney couldn't put in the movie, because in 1957, they just could not put nudity in a movie. Tommy Kirk was outstanding as Travis, Kevin Corcorin was cute as Arliss, and it would have been interesting see him naked for the watering hole scenes!

When I was in Elementary school, the library teacher would read this book, The Little House series, and few others to the class, I have loved these books for a life time! "Hydrophobi" or Hydrophobia is what we today call Raibbies!

Oliver Twist (1999)

As a Drama, one of the best tellings of the Oliver Twist story! At least as far as I'm concerned!!

Oliver! (1968)

I was very sorry to hear of Jack Wild's passing, he was a great actor, I can remember him on H.R. Pufnstuf and I've seen him in Melody, a memorable performance!

Oliver! is, in my opinion, the best telling of the Oliver Twist story! it's a full circle of entertainment! it has song, dance, comedy, drama, and a little suspence! a well rounded movie!

Paradise (1991)

i liked this and the original equally, I don't speak French, and I'm a slow reader, so it was difficult to keep up with the movie. I found myself fixating on the boy in the french version because he's so cute! but the American version was very watchable, Elijah was adorable! he did a great job! Here's a tidbit: actor Thora Birch is (I think)the Maternal Grand Daughter of actor Wilford Brimley, so I guess for her, it runs in the family!

Pete's Dragon (1977)

Sean was a very cute boy! I enjoyed watching him, I'm not much for redheads, but he is SO cute!

3/22/2013, I just watch this wonderful classic again, and even after 30+ years, it's still an enchanting boy movie! one of the best! in fact, I'm raising my rating a notch!

A Place To Be Loved (1993)

THIS movie is the offical version of what happened! When Gregory K won his case, the allowed him to legally change his name to Shawn Russ! Shawn endorsed this movie as what actually happened, the other movie was compiled of half truths and conjecture, gathered from news reports! The Media kept calling this case a "Divorce", it was more than simply a divorce, in a divorce the plantiff must prove irreconsilable differences, in Shawn's case, he HAD to prove his Natural Mother an unfit parent, His Natural Father signed off because he knew that's what the boy wanted, He wasn't the Jerk the other movie had made him out to be! And Shawn wanted that to be known. This is a wonderful movie! you'll find yourself cheering for Shawn when he wins the case! Shawn said he wanted to tell his story so other kids in simular situations would maybe find the courage to do something about it!

The Prince and the Pauper (2007)

This movie is a comedy version of the Prince and the Pauper, and the Sprouse twins pull it off beautifully!

Problem Child (1990)

IF Junior had been a real person, he most likely would have grown up to became a serial killer or something! :)

I love this movie, it's one of my favs! I'm usually not that into redheads, but Michael is an exception! I just wish he had done more with his career! He is the half Brother of Danny Ponce (Hogan Family) who is another of my favs. If cute, mischevious boys is your cup of tea, then you'll love Michael Oliver as the "Problem Child"!

A Reason to Live (1985)

Ricky splashed onto the forefront of Hollywood in the Champ, and by the time he was in this movie, he headed the list of top child actors! He was excellent in this movie!

Richie Rich (1994)

Mac was doing this film during his parents divorce, if I remember correctly! He did quite well in this movie dispite the emotional trama I'm sure he was going through with his parents, and this was about the time Mac started rebeling in his personal life, and then his career start faultering.

I hated the way Mac's Dad handled his career, sure, his Dad acheived the 1 Million dollar salary mark for Mac, making him the highest paid child actor in hollywood, and I think the record stands to this day! but, Kit Caulkin was known in hollywood as the "Stage Dad From Hell" using threats of removing Mac from a project unless he recieved what he was demanding! Dispite ALL of the crap that Kit caused, Mac's only reason for working as an actor was because he loved it so much, that's why I concider Mac the ultimate boy actor!
