CrissCross (1992)
My Movie Rating:Crónica de un niño solo (1965)
My Movie Rating:Cubbyhouse (2001)
This is a very poor example of a VERY tired genre. I ended up skipping through to the kids scenes. I would label it a 'Don't Bother' except that Joshua is worth watching.
My Movie Rating:Cujo (1983)
My Movie Rating:The Cure (1995)
A really beautiful film.
D.A.R.Y.L. (1985)
must have been asleep when I rated this one the first time.
My Movie Rating:Damien: Omen II (1978)
My Movie Rating:Dante's Peak (1997)
My Movie Rating:Dare mo shiranai (2004)
"Emotionally gripping and a keen sense of truth."
And now I own the DVD and watched it a second time. It is more quietly powerful and intimate and moving than that hasty comment above conveys. I love it. As the film was made chronologically over a year, we see Yuya enter the first stages of puberty toward the end of the film. His voice cracks and deepens and his sister teases him about it:"Your voice sounds so weird." Seeing this talented and immensely appealing boy actor enter the very earliest stages of manhood before your eyes had a sweetness about it that I cannot express.
Darkness (2002)
I don't know who to shoot first: The director, film editor, or the lead adult actors.
Stephan Enquist, however, is lovely and gives a good performance in spite of a retarded director.
My Movie Rating:The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
Billy Gray and I were the same age when I saw the film. My buddy :) I was spellbound then and am still impressed by the movie. Probably the first intelligent sci-fi film. Drew Pearson, a famous newscaster of the time, reads the news on TV wearing his hat! Seemed ok at the time, is hilarious now :)
The Day The World Ended (2001)
My Movie Rating:The Daydreamer (1966)
My Movie Rating:Dear Frankie (2004)
Yes I have to agree it is a beautiful movie and I did fall in love with the boy character. There are many charming boy actors but this boy is pure dynamite in his very quiet way.
A Death in the Family (2002)
A superior TV play with a genuine feel of reality and very moving. Austin Wolff is wonderful.
My Movie Rating:Dek hor (2006)
This is a "scary ghost story" that touched me so deeply that I was crying toward the end. One of the top five movies of its genre that I have ever seen.
My Movie Rating:Desperation (2006)
I really admired Shane Haboucha's work in this. He must have been 14 when the movie was shot and his voice hadn't yet changed, which, happily, suited the character he plays.
I rate the movie based on overall performances and the moviemakers best shot at creating an exciting show. I'm not much interested in Stephen King's theology. He is obviously incapable of imagining a creator less mean-spirited than he is himself.
My Movie Rating:Detstvo Gorkogo (1938)
My Movie Rating:The Devil's Playground (1976)
My Movie Rating:Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010)
There were some really funny gags in the first half; the rest I found a bit too edgy for me. This movie mostly hits the same humor vein as Malcolm in The Middle, which I had to force myself to like. But I'm old-fashioned: I like to see the bad guys 'get theirs.' In this case, the bad guy is a girl. No more, or I'll spoil everything.
