Synopsis

Gottfried and Sofie Kummer live in a ramshackle little house without electricity and running water. The pride of the day laborer Kummer are his six boys. The family's quiet everyday life is disturbed when the garage owner Hannes L?thi shows up and demands 350 francs in interest on a promissory note. Payment has been outstanding for a long time. At the end of the month, L?thi wants to see all the money on the table in cash. Hoping to avoid foreclosure, the Kummers try by all means to raise the considerable sum.
