Synopsis
The story of the Tolpuddle Martyrs seen through the eyes of a travelling lanternist. In 1834, a group of Dorset men are arrested and transported to Australia for trying to improve their conditions by forming a labour union.

Douglas had a heck of a time getting funding for this film. It's admittedly a little light on the boy actor factor, but like Winstanley it's a splendid flawed British social epic, and it draws on Douglas's fascination with pre-cinema. Also see Douglas's student short Come Dancing.
