Synopsis
War arrives to a small secluded village in Vojvodina. The Germans take a group of hostages through the village and on their way bully a small boy. As revenge the boy sets the German corn on fire. A shrewd Gestapo officer arrives to investigate. He does not even suspect that he is up against a group of small boys, led by Milan and Vaso, and orders that all men from the village be taken to custody. He announces that one man will be shot each day unless the real culprit steps forward.
Notes
- The title of this film means "A Farm in Mali Rit", Mali Rit being the name of the village where the action takes place. The literal meaning of 'Mali Rit' is 'Little Swamp' or 'Small Marsh'.

A truly wonderful film about three boys in a German occupied village in Yugoslavia during the Second World War. One of the boys takes revenge on the Germans for having been humiliated and hit by a German officer in front of others. This unleashes a chain of events that will transform the villagers' lives for good. There is a young German soldier, Sep, who seems gentler and kinder than the others, and clearly likes the boys, and the boys intuitively like him alone out of the German soldiers. The film grew from an earlier popular TV series on Yugoslav television.
