The Railway Children
(1970)
Country: UK
Genre: Drama
Synopsis
Story of three children who must live in reduced circumstances when their father, a government official, is arrested on a false charge of treason. The kids adapt rather well to their new environment, a community located on the edges of a railway. They befriend a kindly porter and a wealthy gent, both of whom strive to prove their father's innocence. Though the plot of The Railway Children threatens to become excessively melodramatic at every turn, the film's charm is sustained by telling the tale strictly from the children's point of view. (AMG)

Quite good adaptation of the book. Falls short of being a masterpiece perhaps, but much loved.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10
